Elin Suleymanov - Azerbaijan Ambassador to the UK 

Elin Suleymanov is the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the United Kingdom, a position he has held since 2021.

Prior to his appointment in London, Suleymanov served as Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to the United States from 2011 to 2021. He previously served as Azerbaijan’s first Consul General in Los Angeles between 2005 and 2011.

Earlier in his diplomatic career, Suleymanov worked in the Foreign Relations Department of the Office of the President of Azerbaijan and served at the Azerbaijani Embassy in Washington, D.C. He also worked with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Azerbaijan.

Suleymanov studied at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University and has also studied at Moscow State University and the University of Toledo.

During his diplomatic career, he has worked extensively on Azerbaijan’s relations with the United States and the United Kingdom, as well as issues concerning the South Caucasus, regional security, energy, trade and international relations.
